An Indian American pizza delivery man received bullet injuries when two masked gunmen tried to rob him in a posh locality of the greater Washington area. Twenty seven-year-old Vinay Harnal, who was shot in his back and stomach by robbers in the affluent Prince Georges county community in Maryland on Sunday night, is being treated in a hospital and is in stable condition.

Harnal said he was making a pizza delivery in Oxon Hill when he was approached by two masked gunmen. ‘‘One demanded money,’’ Harnal told The Washington Times from his hospital bed. He said he told one of the gunmen to take his money but the man changed his mind after Harnal reached into his back pocket. ‘‘I just stood there, and he started shooting,’’ said Harnal. He, who also faced a robbery early this year, works full time as a truck driver and was doing a part-time job for Papa John’s Pizza in Fort Washington.(PTI)
