NEW DELHI, JANUARY 30: India and Mongolia have signed a five-year work plan for co-operation in agriculture sector, which will include exchange of seed samples, scientific and technical information, training and study visits.
The plan was signed on Friday in the presence of Mongolian Minister for Agriculture and Industry Ch. Sodnomsteren and J N L Srivastava, Special Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture.
Mongolia came into its own after the break-up of Soviet Union in 1991. Since then, Ulaan Bataar has attempted a concerted Asia-Pacific focus, away from Moscow, and has sought to use agriculture, animal husbandry and mining as resource areas to create co-operative ventures.
Sodnomsteren also held discussions on mining with his Indian counterparts and said New Delhi was particularly interested in the exploration and mining of tin.
