India is likely to host the West Indies and Sri Lanka in separate four-match one-day series in the lead-up to the World Cup in the Caribbean early next year. The series against the West Indies is likely in late January, a senior official of the West Indies Cricket Board said. “We are still finalising discussions, but it is looking like four one-dayers against India in India,” WICB’s cricket operations manager Zorol Barthley said. Original plans were for a tri-series between India, Sri Lanka and the West Indies, but the BCCI has now decided to play four matches against both teams instead, Barthley said. BCCI decided to split the series so it could get eight matches in preparation for the World Cup.
