`India is in our hearts’

Among those who addressed press included Anshuman Mishra, Vice-President, Deepak Chopra Foundation, Niranjan Shah, industrialist, Bharat Barrari Prominent Cancer Srgeon, Mukund Modi , President of BJP Friends Association, USA and Savdesh Chatterjee , President Indian American Political Forum.

Indian Americans on Thursday have a major share in the hotel and motel industry, diamond trade, garment manufacturing in the United States. Nearly 30 per cent of the top computer scientists and engineers both in the software and hardware sectors are Indian Americans.

And the second generation Indian Americans have proved to be wonderkids so much so that there is no educational institution in the United States where Indian Americans are on the top.

Indians started to migrate to America in the sixties. And it was the education we received in India including the proficiency in English that put Indian Americans ahead of other migrants, it was pointed out.

Further the family values and the cultural values which Indians hold dear put their head and shoulder above others and till now in the whole of America there is no Indian ghettoes. As a result of these the Americans had high regard for Indian Americans.

By the 90s the Indians had made their pressence felt in all fields and had moved to top positions in various fields and today the Indian Americans are taken note of and taken seriously by the political parties.
