Oct 29: India has now topped the league with their two wins — first over UAE (7-4) earlier on Tuesday — which gives them an all win record and now await the winner of today’s pool tie between the hosts and Pakistan for their opponent in final scheduled for tomorrow.

Despite the presence of Asia’s best, including current Asian champion Mohammed Yousuf, Pakistan could not put up any serious resistance against India, led by former Asian champion Yasin Merchant.

Pakistan conceded a 5-1 lead half-way through the match and could not recover from the initial setback. Pakistan’s Yousuf went down tamely to Merchant in the first match and in final fixture after the tie was decided, Yousuf lost to Alok Kumar.
