CII team meets AdvaniA delegation of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) met Home Minister L.K. Advani on Monday and suggested a number of steps to tackle the law and order situation and create an environment for higher investment, industrial and economic growth.The CII team was led by its president Rajesh Shah and included Eicher group chairman Subodh Bhargava, CII chairman (northern region) Arun Bhagat Ram and chairman of Hindustan Motors and director general of CII Tarun Das, among others.The delegation said that interactions between the Home Ministry and CII should be encouraged so that a consultative-cum-partnership approach is followed to aid industrial development and investment. The participants also decided to take measures to encourage cooperation between the Delhi Police and CII.DUTA dharnaThe Delhi University Teacher's Association held a dharna today to protest against the ``non-seriousness shown by university authorities in the implementation of pay revision and against delay in framing of university ordinances.'' Later, a DUTA delegation met the vice-chancellor Prof V R Mehta to voice their demands. The delegation criticised the university authorities for not sending a circular to colleges on pay revision resulting in confusion regarding fixation of salary.AIR strikeThe administrative staff of All India Radio and television are on an indefinite strike demanding pay parity with engineering and programme staff. The strikers demonstrated at Akashvani Bhawan today. As the financial year is coming to an end, accounting and other related services have been severely affected.
