Kolhapur: Union Minister for Railways Nitish Kumar will flag off the Kolhapur-Tirupati Express on September 23 from Kolhapur.

According officials of South Central Railway, the new train which will link the cities, will leave Kolhapur at 1.20 p.m. and reach Tirupati by 8.50 a.m. the next day. On the return journey, the train will leave Tirupati at 7.15 p.m and will reach Kolhapur at 2.45 p.m. the next day.

Union Minister of State for Railways Ram Naik will also attend the function. The train will also cater to passengers travelling to Hyderabad as four coaches of Kolhapur-Tirupati Express will be attached to the Tirupati-Hyderabad Rayalseema Express for further journey at Guntakkal junction.

Similarly, these four coaches will be separated from Hyderabad-Tirupati Rayalseema Express on its return journey and will be attached to Tirupati-Kolhapur Express.

Award for writer
Pune: Noted Dalit litterateur Sharankumar Limbale was today presented with the first Daya Pawar Memorial Award instituted by Parivartan Sahitya Mahamandal(PSM).

Co-recipient of the award, Dr. Bhalchandra Phadke, did not attend the function. The award was presented by PSM’s founder and Republican Party of India (RPI) MP Ramdas Athavale.

The president of PSM, Wamanrao Owhal, said since its formation the organisation had encouraged Dalit writers and give an impetus to the Dalit movement.
