Imrana's three sisters-in-law have filed a defamation suit against her in a Muzaffarnagar court claiming she has falsely accused their father-in-law of raping her."Imrana was never raped by our father-in-law Ali Mohammad.she has defamed the whole family. We have young daughters of marriageable age and no one here wants to associate with us now," says the complaint filed by Jelhani Munazara, Imrana’s sister-in-law along with her two younger sisters. Jelhani’s husband Nur Hasan is the eldest brother in the family.The court of the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (First), Muzaffarnagar has admitted the case and has asked Jelhani to record her statement on August 12. Notices regarding the defamation suit have been sent separately by the three woman to Imrana as well.The complaint says Ali Mohammad’s family had to desert their house due to "ignominous charges levelled by Imrana".One of Imrana’s statements in the FIR that "Ali Mohammad left no woman in the house before making advances towards me’’ is also mentioned in the suit. "She means to say that all three of us have also been sexually harassed by Mohammad and this is not true. Imrana is lying.there has been no rape with her as well,’’ says the complaint.
