NEW DELHI, January 8: Perfect Relations's own PR exercise has ended in a fiasco. The public relations company, whose political campaigns arm, Polit Bureau, figured prominently in some of this morning's newspapers for acquiring the Congress account, lost the campaign today.A statement by Polit Bureau this evening said it was ``suspending work on the AICC communication campaign with immediate effect,'' because of ``serious differences in the operating style of a certain group within the Congress.''Clearly, the ``certain group'' within the Congress was miffed by the mileage Polit Bureau received in the media for bagging the account which, among other things, entailed arranging for ``exclusive interviews and informal talks'' for media persons with the party's top guns. Insiders at the party's Akbar Road headquarters here suggested that some prominent partymen were irked by the firm's ``text-book approach to public relations'' and the claim by its CEO to a daily that it would do for the Congress and its leader what the multinational Satchi and Satchi did for Margaret Thatcher in the 1980s.
