No Hindu organisation, including the VHP or the RSS, has any authority to speak about the Ram janmabhoomi in Ayodhya, according to Kanchi seer Jayendra Saraswathi. He said he is the only representative and the chief negotiator of the Hindus on the issue.Talking to mediapersons here today, he said the VHP and the RSS are only campaigning for the Hindu cause. Asked about the latest deadline set by the Hindu fundamentalists, he said deadlines were a kind of pressure politics to make things happen.Reiterating that the Supreme Court’s decision would be final, Jayendra refused to accept that BJP was utilising Ayodhya for garnering majority Hindu votes during elections.He also said that the BJP isn’t engaged in communal politics because of the coalition nature of the government at the Centre. ‘‘Politics and religion are different. The BJP-led Centre will not politicise Ayodhya,’’ he assured.Blaming media for painting him anti-Dalit, he said: ‘‘We have never talked against Dalits. We know they are part of Hindus.”
