Despite the reluctance shown by the JD-S to hand over power to its coalition partner BJP, Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said he was still confident that the JD-S would transfer power as promised.
Yediyurappa said he was confident that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy would hand over the reins to him.
On the possibility of running such a coalition government which had suffered some strains during the power transfer process, he said one could wait and see how the government was run and could also expect some changes.
They had proved their capability in the past 20 months and hence were confident of running a coalition, he said.
He, however, refused to comment on some reports of the Congress considering extending support to the JD-S.
Agreeing with his viewpoint, Naidu said he was confident that Yediyurappa would be the next Chief Minister of Karnataka. “It is only a question of time,” Naidu said.
On the issue of running the coalition government, he said that the BJP had demonstrated at the central level its capability in running such a government despite ‘minor irritants’.
He said the BJP would replicate the same in Karnataka when it takes over the reins.
On the urban local body election, Naidu said he was happy with the party’s performance as it had obtained majority in all the major corporations, which others failed to do.
