MUMBAI, FEBRUARY 21: Financial services firm ICICI Ltd on Monday said it will start receiving account opening applications from February 22 for an integrated Internet based service for trading in shares. The facility is available at icicidirect.com which has been launched by ICICI Web Trade Ltd, a subsidiary of ICICI.

"In addition to the account opening the content is going togo live as well," said Madhabi Puri Buch, Joint General Manager at ICICI Ltd. The web site’s facilities will allow customers to place orders for shares over the Internet, make payments for them online and hold them in dematerialised form when fully operational.

The site will feature live share price feed from the National Stock Exchange, news from content providers like Reuters and Indiainfoline and reports from equity research houses in the initial phase.

The trading facility will be made available later in the year. "We expect to receive all approvals by early March… we will be able to commence live trading by then," she said.
