CHANDIGARH, May 3: ICC XI beat United Club by 99 runs and move into the semi-final of the third Gursagar Silver Cup cricket tournament here at the Gursagar ground today. Jagjit Saini put in an allround performance (64 and 2 for 40) to play an important role in his side's victory. Batting first ICC XI scored 267 for 9 in 40 overs. United Club, consisting mostly of young cricketers of the city, put up a brave show and scored 170. Even though they lost the match, they went home richer with a few cricketing lessons. Jagjit Saini hit eight fours and one six in his knock while Rishpal had six fours and one six in his knock of 45.
