The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested bureaucrat Ravi Shankar Srivastav on Thursday night, for his alleged involvement in the illegal transfer of prime government land to private parties in the state. The ACB conducted raids in 17 places in the state and arrested four other people.
Srivastav, a 1985-batch IAS officer, has been remanded to five days police custody, while the other accused, including a prominent businessman, were also sent to police remand.
Raiding officials charged Srivastav, posted as a member of the Rajasthan revenue board in Ajmer, with misuse of his post. Officials said that he was taking bribes to transfer government property worth crores of rupees into private hands. Simultaneous raids were also conducted in the houses of Srivastav and his relatives in Noida and Allahabad.
