December 3: An air miss between an Indian Airlines Chennai-bound Airbus A-300 (IC-540) and a Jet Airways Delhi-bound Boeing 737 (9W 812) was reported at around 8.15 pm last night over Nagpur.The Air Traffic Controller of the Nagpur Area Control Centre, who has since been taken off the roster pending an inquiry by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, had asked the Boeing commander to climb from 26,000 feet to 35,000 feet while the Airbus was flying in at 29,000 feet, airport officials said in Mumbai today.The officials said the Traffic Collision Avoidance System (T-CAS) in both aircraft were activated as ``both sighted each other in clear weather''. The Digital Flight Data Recorder of the two aircraft have been taken out for a readout, the officials said. The Airbus had taken off from Delhi while the Boeing was flying in from Bangalore.
