I_T dept. seizes money from petrol bunks

CHENNAI, Aug. 8: Income Tax (Investigation) department officials have seized ‘unaccounted money’ amounting to Rs 1.28 crore from a couple of business premises and residences of petrol bunk owners in the city. As much as Rs 55 lakh was saeized from the home of a single employee of a bunk. Meanwhile, services of a high ranking official of the vigilance department of an oil company has been sought to establish whether these petrol bunks were indulging in large scale adulteration using petroleum byproducts.
