Former Indian capatin Sourav Ganguly today said that he was ready to play in any position in the batting order and that he had no issues in batting down in the order.

Talking to reporters at a felicitation programme, he said that everything would depend on the strategy of the team management.

When asked he would like to open again for India or whether he had any priority in the batting order Sourav said, “I had opened before with Sachin so I see no problems with doing it again but it all depends on the team managment and not on my priorities. I am willing to play in any position.”

Talking about the forthcoming ODI series against West Indies, the ace southpaw said that if the Indian team could reach totals of 280 to 290 runs on against the visitors, the matches would become competitive.

Ganguly said that although the Indian team did not win against West Indies recently, they were in a postion to do well as most of the players selected were in good form.

Confident about his own performance, Ganguly said that he hoped to carry on his good performance in the Test series against South Africa.

“Performance increases confidence which is the key to improve it further. With my performance in South Africa recently, I hope to carry it on in the forthcoming ties too.”
