The CBI on Friday arrested Madan Lal, Income Tax Commissioner, Karnal, while accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh. He has been remanded to judicial custody till May 23.

The CBI action came after a complaint was lodged by one Rajesh Behal alleging that Madan Lal had demanded Rs 1 lakh to settle a case against him. Behal runs a finance company, a motel and a lease company and a case against him was pending with Lal.
