NOVEMBER 30: Bala Parshuram’s (4-8) hat-trick complimented his team’s batting high as Don Bosco, Matunga crushed Shriram Vidyalaya, Thane by a whopping 297 runs in a second round match of the MSSA-Colgate Inter School Giles Shield (u-14) Cricket tournament today.
Earlier, Manmeet Singh Bhamra’s 102 and Ameya Poyarekar’s 84 laid the foundations for Don Bosco’s mammoth score of 325. In reply, Shriram Vidyalaya were shot out for a paltry 28.
Other higlights of the day was the all-round display of Karan Joshi (50 & 8-15) which powered Sardar Vallabhai Patel to an emphatic 178-run victory over IES, Katrap.

Andrew’s, Garcia in final
St. Andrew’s, Bandra upstaged defending champions Chinai in a penalty shoot-out 3-1 this evening and booked a berth in the final of the Goan Sports Association’s Inter Collegiate Football Championship.
With both teams drawing a blank at full-time, the encounter spilled into a tie-breaker where St Andrew’s goalkeeper Arveen Thakur displayed his mettle. Thakur affected three saves and blocked Chinai’s further foray in the competition. Thakur, Anil Rajak and Jairzinho Siero found the target for the winners while William Soares was the lone scorer for Chinai.
St Andrew’s will lock horns with Garcia, Vasai who pipped NM College 1-0. NM’s goalkeeper Denzil Aranbhan messed a collection the last minute and also his team’s chances when a powerful Roshan Das’ shot slipped through his hands into the goal.
Namrata Goyal shines
Namrata Goyal scored 10 points, the only hoopster to return double figures today, as Villa Theresa B defeated St Joseph’s, Bandra 23-10 in the under-16 girls event of the MSSA-Colgate inter-school basketball tournament at School Sports Centre, Azad Maidan.
