MUMBAI, APRIL 6: Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd (HUDCO) has made a leap jump in its operations for housing and urban infrastructure projects in Maharashtra during the financial year 1998-99.
According to a news release, HUDCO has financed housing projects with project cost of more than Rs 700 crore with a loan commitment of Rs 488 crore and urban infrastructure projects with a project cost of Rs 1050 crore and loan commitment of Rs 529 crore totaling to Rs 1017 crore. At the same period HUDCO has also released a loan amount of Rs 320 crore for the state.
During the year, on the urban infrastructure front HUDCO has made rapid strides in the state and sanctioned infrastructure projects which includes three commuter railway line projects in Navi Mumbai, water supply scheme for Pune, two bagasse based power generation projects, power generation project from municipal solid waste at Nagpur and various low cost sanitation projects all over the state.
In addition to the above HUDCO has also given its nod to finance some trend setting projects like Bandra-Worli sea link project with a financial assistance of Rs 370 crore and various other road projects of PWD, Government of Maharashtra amounting to Rs 195 crore comprising Nagpur, Nashik, Aurangabad, Amravati and Pune sector, the release added.
