CHANDIGARH, April 23: Bhupinder Singh Hooda, president of the Haryana Pradesh COngress Committee has warned that any unilateral announcement by the Prime Minister on the issue of transfer of Chandigarh to Punjab during his proposed visit to Amritsar would be totally unacceptable to the people of Haryana.

Talking to newsmen here today, he warned the Central government against any such move without settling the water and other territorial disputes between Punjab and Haryana.

He said that if the issues were delinked than water would be a priority for Haryana. He apprehended that the Prime Minister during his proposed visit to Amritsar would make some announcement on the issue of Chandigarh. He threatened that people of the state would launch a state-wide agitation and block the capital from three sides, if any any unilateral announcement was made by the Centre.
