NEW DELHI, August 5: Sharifuddin, who has represented Delhi in Santosh Trophy Football Championships as a player, from 1971 to 1984 without a break, and again in 1997 as coach of the Delhi under-19 team, has been selected by the Delhi Kalyan Samiti for a cash award of Rs 11,000.Sharifuddin, an enployee of the Punjab National Bank, had given consistent performances in Santosh Trophy, DCM, Durand and Rovers tournaments. Presently, he is coaching the Youngmen Club.Sharifuddin also captained a Delhi XI against an India XI in 1976, played for the President's XI against a visiting German side in 1977 and represented Delhi in the Pattu Mazumdar Championships.
