MUMBAI, June 10: Hoechst Marion Roussel has registered a 19.73 % increase in net profits at Rs 20.26 crore for the year-ended March 31, 1997 as against Rs 16.92 crore in the previous year. The board has recommended a dividend of 40 % dividend.Net sales for the year rose to Rs 386.90 crore from Rs 337.92 crore in the previous year. Other income was Rs 14.41 crore while total expenditure stood at Rs 344.79 crore. Provision for depreciation was Rs 10.74 crore.Total expenditure includes provision/payment under the voluntary retirement scheme of Rs 7.60 crore (March 31, 1997) and Rs 11.67 crore (March 31, 1996). Net profit margins for the year were higher at 5.23 % as against 5 %. Interest stood at Rs 10.66 crore as against Rs 10.48 crore in the previous year.
