Ganeshkar triumphs

Ganesh Ganishkar (Seven Stars) won the men’s 10,000 metres in the Thane District Amateur Athletic Association championship, organised by Thane Metropolitan Gymkhana.

Hosts Andheri YMCA beat Wellingdon YMCA 59-45 in the semi-finals of the first Bombay YMCA Andheri Branch Open basketball tournament.

World Networks score

World Networks beat Ralph SC 2-1 in the WIFA Second Division football league at the Cooperage, today.

Doshi supreme

Dr Prakash Doshi, an orthopedic surgeon at Nanavati Hospital, won the Bombay Presidency Golf Club (BPGC) Club Challenge Cup golf tournament, which has ranking status, at the par-70 BPGC course, Chembur, yesterday.

Doshi, a minus 18 handicapper, had a plus-six score in the 36-hole competition against bogey. Dalip Tripathi (handicap, minus 11) finished as the runner-up with a plus-four score.
