Henry paves way for HP win

NEW DELHI, Jan 3: Hewlett Packard (HP) beat Microsoft by 31 runs while Aptech scored an eight-wicket win over NIIT in the Oracle Cup cricket tournament. Batting first, HP set a target of 167 runs for victory losing seven wicket in 20 overs. For HP, Henry scored a fine half century while Himanshu contributed with 29 runs and Sanjay scored 20. Among Microsoft bolwers, Rajiv C. and Prakash claimed two wickets each. Henry, later, tormented Microsoft batsmen with a superb bowling as Microsoft were bundled out for 135 in 13.3 overs. Henry returned home with a rich haul of five wickets giving just 18 runs. Vivek and Rakesh were the other wicket-takers for the winners who claimed two each. For Microsoft, Sanjeev (38) and Rajeev C. (33) were the main scorers.

In another match, NIIT restricted Aptech to 177 for seven in 25 overs and then easily reached the target in 18.5 overs losing just two wickets. Pankaj (42), Sampath (41), Ramesh (29) and Rajesh (26) were the main scorers for Aptech while Monto remained the most successful bowler for NIIT claiming four wickets at the cost of 19 runs. A brilliant 81 runs by Rajeev and 65 by Ravi was the highlight of the NIIT innings.

Katyal stars in Ashoka victory
An unbeaten 66 by Vikas Katyal helped Ashoka Club beat Gemini by four wickets in a C division match of DDCA league at Kotla 2 here today.

In another match, K G Gymkhana defeated Century by six wickets in A 2 division. Mitul Khulbe scored an unbeaten 61 for the winners.
