Heavr rain leaves Delhi water-logged

Several autos, heavy vehicles like trucks and cars were stranded on the roads due to heavy water-logging.

“The travel time from AIIMS to Hauzkhas is just few minutes on the usual day but today it took over an hour to cover the distance,” Sarita, a business executive with a private firm said.

Among the worst affected were the areas where Metro and PWD construction activities are being undertaken.

The weatherman has forecast intermittent rain with few heavy spells in various parts of the city.

The non-stop heavy rains since Wednesday night sent the minimum temperature plummeting to 24.4 degree Celsius from 28.8 degree Celsius recorded on Wednesday. The maximum temperature recorded was 36.4 degree Celsius.

For the bus commuters, it was a harrowing time as they were left stranded on the roads, with many Blueline buses staying off the roads in the absence of the mandatory safety certificate issued by the transport department.
