NEW DELHI, JUNE 2: The unrelenting heat wave claimed another 100 lives overnight taking the toll to more than a 1,000. Reports said there 50 heat wave-related deaths in Bihar, 40 in Andhra Pradesh, three in Uttar Pradesh, two in West Bengal and one in Rajasthan over the past 24 hours.

According to a Patna report, 18 people died in Nalanda district, 11 (Daltonganj), Eight (Garhwa), seven (Vaishali), three (Siwan), two (Muzaffarpur) and one in Kaimur district since yesterday. The toll stood at 149 for the current season in Bihar.

In Andhra Pradesh the severe heat wave continued unabated and claimed 40 more lives overnight, a rajahmundry report said.
