ISLAMABAD, MAY 27: Hearing in the helicopter case, in which deposed Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is the prime accused, was deferred till June 2 by the Accountability Court here on Saturday.

The hearing was postponed as Sharif’s close aide Saifur Rehman, who is also an accused in the case, could not be produced in the court. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed the reference in the Accountability Court of Judge Farrukh Latif.

The prosecution has accused Sharif of concealing assets and evading tax in the purchase of a Russian-made helicopter. Rehman was the head of Accountability Bureau when Sharif was the premier before his Government was overthrown in a coup on October 12 last year.
