Next of the kin of two victims of the Raghunath Mandir attack were among the 45 militant victims who got jobs here today.

‘‘Nothing in the world can compensate the human loss but we can make a humble effort to provide respite to the survivors,’’ said Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed while handing over appointment letters to them.

The Raghunath Mandir victims have been lucky to have landed jobs within 15 days of the incident. Many of the others have been waiting since 1992.

Kamla, widow of martyr Madan Chopra, Vir Chakra, could not hold her tears today as her son Vinod walked to the podium to collect his appointment letter.

Kuldeep Raj’s father died in a bomb blast at Digiana. He lived in penury for over a decade.

With his mother, two brothers and two sisters to fend for, Kuldeep did menial jobs along side farming. The appointment letter today brought cheer to the whole family.

The Chief Minister also presented cash relief to mine victims.
