Despite the rupee appreciation, HCL Technologies has posted a 186 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 391.23 crore for the quarter ended June 2007 as against Rs 136.45 crore for the quarter ended June 2006 as new clients across geographies, dollar hedging and outsourcing services drove growth. Total income for the quarter rose by 52 per cent to Rs 1238.72 crore from Rs 813.18 crore recorded in the quarter ended June 2006.While growth of the top-rung IT firms had been impacted by an rising rupee, HCLT is the only company thus far to have registered a forex gain of $79.2 million for this year. The company paid a final dividend of 100 per cent in Q4 taking the total dividend payout in the year to 400 per cent.
