NEW DELHI, JANUARY 28: The Delhi High Court on Friday sought status report within four weeks from the city police on the progress of investigation into a case of parading a woman naked by some persons in a locality here last year.A division bench comprising Justices Usha Mehra and S N Kapoor allowed time to the police till March 6 after DCP (Crime) Pradeep Srivastava and DCP (Vigilence) Ms S Nanda in their personal submissions said further probe into the matter was going on and some more time was required.They told the court that SHO of Gopalpuri in north-east district, where the incident took place, had been transferred and three persons were arrested.The court was hearing a criminal writ filed by the Swabhiman Manch, which alleged that police did not take immediate action against the guilty persons.The incident allegedly took place on July 29 last year in Chauhanpur area under Gokulpuri police station.During arguments, the court wanted to know whether police take suo motu action onsuch incidents, when reported in the media. "When such matters are reported (in newspapers) are the clippings sent to police commissioner and inquiry held on basis of those?" the bench asked adding that in the present case it seemd that police took action only after the HC's invervention.
