The Kerala High Court on Friday declined to order reinvestigation of the Kozhikode ice cream parlour sex scandal case, allegedly involving former Industries Minister P.K. Kunhalikutty.

Dismissing three public interest writ petitions, the Bench said the case had been investigated several times, first by the police and then at the instance of Supreme Court and by the Court of Magistrate. The investigation part is exhausted, and now, the case is in the realm of a criminal court and no outside intervention is called for, it said.

The provocation for filing these petitions was the statement given to the electronic media by one of the victims, Rejina, on October 28, 2004 that Kuhnalikutty had sex with her when she was a minor. Every time Rejina makes a statement, fresh course of action cannot be followed, the Bench said.
