NAGPUR, JUNE 13: The High Court Bench here has directed notices before admission against State Chief Minister Manohar Joshi and two others in response to a public interest litigation seeking probe into a dubious advertisement, inviting applications for top posts in an unnamed Statutory Board.The advertisement which was published recently by a leading Marathi daily, stated that the aspirants should address their applications to Post Box No 1821 at General Post Office (GPO), Mumbai.Apart from Joshi, the State Chief Secretary, Dinesh Afzalpurkar, and the Member Secretary of Maharashtra Pollution Control Board, C S Sangitrao, are the other two respondents in the matter.The petitioner, Kishore Tiwari, who is also Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party's Yavatmal District unit, has cast doubt that the vacancies, mentioned in the advertisement, were related to the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB).Tiwari along with Members of Legislative Council Vasant Bapat of Thane and Diwakar Pande of Yavatmal, had earlier despatched a representation urging the Chief Minister to launch a probe into the entire affair.The petitioner appeared in person before the bench, comprising Justices V S Sirpurkar and B H Marlapalle, when the matter was called for hearing today.The court has appointed advocate Jaideep Chandurkar as amicus curiae in the matter.
