The Kerala High court has declined to accept the apology of K Suresh Kumar, senior IAS officer, who headed the Munnar Special Task Force, and directed him to be personally present in the court on October 8 in a contempt case.
The direction in this regard was issued by Justice S Sirijagan on a contempt petition filed by the owners of Dhanyashree Resorts of Munnar, stating that damage had been caused to the resort when a stay order of the court was pending.
The court said the affidavit filed by Suresh Kumar was ‘not bonafide’. ‘I am not inclined to accept the apology.
According to me it is not bonafide’, the court held.
Earlier, the court had expressed dissatisfaction at Suresh Kumar’s affidavit.
The case relates to the action taken by Suresh Kumar against Dhanyashree Resorts at Munnar during the pendency of a stay order of the court.
The task force had been set up to evict encroachers from government land in Munnar in Idukki district.
