CHANDIGARH, MAY 20: The Haryana Government has suspended former Union Territory Home Secretary N.K. Jain following his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a corruption scandal. He has been placed under suspension with effect from May 9, the day he was arrested.

The orders for suspension of Jain, a 1978 batch IAS officer, have been issued by Chief Secretary Ram S. Varma after he was repatriated by the Union Home Ministry from Chandigarh on Wednesday.

The bus, carrying 57 passengers, caught fire due to a short circuit and quickly engulfed in flames. The Jaisalmer District Collector has requested family members to identify the deceased.
