CHANDIGARH, July 7: The Haryana government has written to the UT Administration to repatriate the Home Secretary, Anuradha Gupta, at the end of her tenure. The Administration had favoured a one-year extension to Gupta on the completion of her three-year term in October. About a month ago, it had also written to Haryana in this regard, and the state government had sent its approval.Haryana has now reversed its move and has also sent names of three officers - Roshan Lal, Surina Rajan and Hardip Kumar - for the selection of the next incumbent for the post.Interestingly, Haryana Chief Secretary R.S. Varma denied any knowledge of the move to repatriate Anuradha Gupta to her parent state. He said he was not aware of any reason which had led the state government to change its earlier decision approving the extension in her tenure.Meanwhile, the UT Administration has recommended M. Ramsekhar's name for the post of deputy commissioner. Ramsekhar is a Haryana-cadre officer of the 1988 batch. The other officers on the panel are H.S. Dhankar and T.C. Gupta. The three-year term of the present incumbent, K.K. Khandelwal, ends in October. The panel for the DC's post has been sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs, which has in turn asked for the latest annual confidential reports (ACRs) of these officers.
