CHANDIGARH, July 28: The Haryana Police today joined issue with the Delhi Police on their claim that the bomb which exploded in a state-owned bus at the Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) in Delhi last Sunday, was planted either at Safidon or Murthal in Haryana.

Taking strong exception to the claim, Director General of Haryana Police, S. K. Sethi said that how can Delhi Police reach such a conclusion when the investigations were still continuing. Instead, it appeared that the bomb was planted in the bus in Delhi itself as there was a gap of 20 minutes between the bus arrival at 11.15 am and explosion at 11.35 am. Two persons were killed and four others injured in the bomb blast.

The DGP is likely to take up the matter with his counter-part in Delhi. The Haryana Police believes that if the bomb had been planted at Safidon in Jind district or Murthal in Sonepat district, the miscreants would have timed it to target maximum number of passengers. “I don’t think they would have waited for passengers to get down,” said a senior police official.
