JODHPUR, OCT 6: Harbhajan Singh's inclusion in the squad for the first Test against New Zealand was announced on the public address system at the Barkatullah Khan Stadium this afternoon. The Punjab off-spinner celebrated with two wickets off successive balls to finish the day with four wickets for 63 runs. The New Zealanders, replying to the Board President's XI's first innings score of 298, ended the second day at 248 for five.The final session belonged to Harbhajan. He checked the run flow of the tourists by dismissing skipper Stephen Fleming and Chris Harris as New Zealanders slumped from a healthy 222 for three to 222 for five. Fleming was taken at slip by Rathore while Harris did not move his feet to a flipper and was adjudged leg before.Opener Matthew Horne (85: 12x4, 250m, 180b) and Craig Spearman (55: 5x4, 2x6, 132m, 89b) put on 108 runs for the second wicket as the Board XI bowlers struggled on a helpless wicket. The second wicket stand proved to be the highlight of the afternoon session afternew-ball bowler Ashish Winston Zaidi had claimed the wicket of shaky opener Matthew Bell for eight with the total on 38.
