Sebi top brass had a detailed talk with Finance Secretary D. C. Gupta on the recent fall in stock prices and the current market situation. Sebi chairman G. N. Bajpai, member T. M. Nagarajan and ED in charge of secondary markets Pratip Kar were also attended the meeting. A day after Sebi reiterated after Thursday’s high-level meeting that it was on ‘high alert’, Bajpai reiterated on Friday: “We are on very, very, very high alert. We will take stern corrective action whenever we come across any market misdemeanours.”
