VADODARA, Nov 26: Gujarat Refinery, as part of its community welfare projects, donated Rs 1 lakh to Muni Ashram in Waghodia. The cheque was presented by Executive Director, Gujarat Refinery, P S Rao to Anuben, director of the ashram, which runs an old age home, hostel for the handicapped, schools and hospitals.President of the Refinery Officers' Club P R Das, deputy General Manager (human resources) Jai Gopal and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.National integration week: All gujrefin employees pledged to strengthen the bonds of national integration and unity to mark the beginning of the national integration week. K K Konar GM (projects), B Chowdhary GM (finance) administered the pledge. `Serva Bhashi Kavya Gosthi', quiz and painting contests have been organised during the week-long celebrations.Cardiac stress test for employees: The occupational health centre of the Refinery takes care of various occupational health problems of the employees. Preventive measures are taken by the Centre - based on environmental surveys in the plant. In addition to audiometry, vision testing, lung function haeamatological, pathological, and clinical testing facilities, computerised stress test facilities have also been introduced at the occupational health centre. An action plan has been drawn to cover all the employees above 40 years of age to ensure preventive measures for heart diseases.Health awareness: `Living with Diabetes' and `Aerobic Exercises' are the two health awareness films which will be shown to Refinery employees and their family members through the cable network, as part of the health awareness campaign of the Refinery.
