India’s cricket coach Greg Chappell would not attend tomorrow’s selection committee meeting here to choose the captain for the tour of Zimbabwe.

“Chappell would not attend the meeting tomorrow to choose the captain, but he would be present at the selectors’ meeting the next day to pick the squad ,” cricket board secretary S K Nair said.

Nair also said that the BCCI was awaiting an update on the fitness of Sachin Tendulkar. “We have asked team physiotherapist John Gloster to give an update.”

A moving AC sleeper bus caught fire on the Jaisalmer-Jodhpur Highway, leaving around 20 people dead and many others with severe burns. The bus, carrying 57 passengers, caught fire due to a short circuit and quickly engulfed in flames. The Jaisalmer District Collector has requested family members to identify the deceased.
