
CHANDIGARH, Jan 1: The Green Environment Club celebrated its second anniversary today on the campus of the Government Central Crafts Institute for Women, Sector 11.
Various competitions like on-the-spot painting competition, slogan writing contest, poetry recitation, essay writing contest, paint your gamla contest, debates, fresh flower and dry flower arrangement contests based on the theme of "Environment Preservation" were organised.
S.K. Sharma, president of the Environment Society of India, announced a grant of Rs 10,000 to the club for pursuing the activities in connection with the theme of "preserving and protecting the environment".
The results of the various competitions, in order of merit, are as follows: On the spot painting contest: Shamma Thakur, Paramjit Kaur and Harpal Kaur.
Slogan writing contest: Sukhwinder Kaur, Harvinder Kaur and Harpal Kaur.
Paint your gamla contest: Shamma Thakur, Shalini and Meenu Arora.
Essay writing contest: Baljinder, Nisha and Meenu Arora.
Poetry recitation contest: Shamma Thakur, Harpal Kaur and Supriya Jindal.
Debate: Sangeeta, Shamma Thakur.
Quiz contest: Shamma, Navkiran and Supriya.
Fresh flower arrangement: Harpal, Jatinder and Shalini.
Dry flower arrangement: Shalini, Madhu and Mithu.
Cultural programme: Jatinder, Baljinder, Harmeet, Shalini.
