The I-B Ministry has served notices on both Shashilal Nair and Manisha Koirala after the actress urged Sushma Swaraj on Friday to revoke/withdraw/cancel/suspend the Censor certification for Ek Chhoti si Love Story. The ministry has sought Nair’s explanation on why the certification should not be revoked. Nair told PTI he has been asked to appear in person on September 13. Koirala’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde said he received a notice seeking an explanation why the certificate should be withdrawn. I-B has sought the Law Ministry’s advice. It has said the Centre can stop a film’s screening after the Censor Board clears it, if the film portrays women indecently. Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, roped in by Nair as mediator, advised him and Koirala to ‘‘work out an amicable solution within the legal framework”.
