NEW DELHI, FEBRUARY 20: Private steel producers have criticised government’s decision to bail out Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) with a financial package involving loan waiver and guarantees for mobilising fresh loans from financial institutions and banks.

"The government decision to waive Steel Development Fund (SDF) loans is highly discriminatory and will put the company above the other major steel producers in the competitive market for financial resources," Indofer Society, an association of private steel producers said in a statement.
