CHANDIGARH, Nov 9: Government High School-32 beat Sri Guru Gobind Singh Senior Secondary School-35 by 10-4 and one inning to win the title in the under-17 girls section in the Chandigarh State girls kho-kho tournament being held at SGGS-35.
In the under-19 group, SGGS-35 beat GMSSS-32 by 14-1 and one innning to enter the semifinal. In another match, GGSSS-23 defeated GHS-33 by 11-1 and one inning to move into the last four stage. The finals will be played tomorrow.
Taekwondo trials
Trials to select senior Punjab taekwondo teams for the forthcoming National taekwondo championship to be held at Bangalore from November 25 to 26 will be conducted on November 16 at Guru Nanak VBT Polytechnic, C-4, Industrial Area, Phase I, SAS Nagar. The trials were earlier, slated to be held on November 19.
Black belt test in the senior group would also be held.
Badminton meet
The Haryana Vidyut Parishad Nigam Limited, Panchkula is organising the All-India Electricity Boards Badminton Tournament at Sector 42 Badminton Hall from November 28 to December 1.
NI shooting
City Shooters Club, Chandigarh is organising the 23rd Northern India Shooting Championship under the supervision of National Rifle Association and Chandigarh Rifle Association at Patiali Rao Ranges from November 25 to 29, according to club general secretary Rajinder K Singla.
Teams from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal, Rajasthan, Indian Army, CRPF. BSF, CISF, ITBP and Chandigarh are likely to take part in the meet.
Entry closes at Shooting Ranges on November 21.
UT volleyball
The Senior and Junior Chandigarh State Volleyball Championships will be held from December 4 to 6 at Sector 7 Sports Complex. The state teams will be selected during meet which will take part in the 47th Senior Nationals at Chinsurya (West Bengal) from December 24 to 31.
The state junior team will also be selected for the 25th Junior Nationals to be held from January 21 to 26 next year.
Entries may be sent at House No. 138, Sector 19-A or volleyball coach Suresh Kumar, Sector 7 Sports Complex on December 3.
