Governor (Retd) Lt Gen S.K. Sinha has asked the PDP state government to reply to complaints lodged by Omar Abdullah and his father, Farooq Abdullah against a few ministers for allegedly beating up supporters of the National Conference.
‘‘I have asked CM Mufti Mohammad Sayed to reply. Even the CM has ordered further investigation into the matter,’’ Sinha said.
On May 15, Farooq Abdullah, along with party leaders, had called on the Governor at his residence to apprise him of ‘‘anti-people and undemocratic’’ activities of some ministers of the PDP government against NC workers after the results to the Srinagar seat were declared.
The NC members said the ministers had harassed their party workers who were celebrating Omar Abdullah’s victory at Budgam. The NC named Minister of State for Power Javid Mustafa Mir and Works Minister Qazi Afzal. The delegation also complained that a few ministers were harassing the NC’s voters with the help of the police.
