MUMBAI, APRIL 29: MV Gospel rallied from a frame down to beat A Chatelier in the second round of the Sushil R Ruia open handicap snooker tournament, sponsored by Selvel, at Matharpacady Club today.
Both playing with handicaps of 50, Chatelier managed breaks of 19 and 21 in the first frame but could not keep up the tempo in the next two.

Top seed G Balaji forced schoolboy Yogesh Deshpande to resign after 17 moves in the first round of the pre-rating selection chess organised by Bombay Chess Association at Zandu Canteen yesterday evening. The top 12 players of the tournament, from the eighty participating, will be eligible to play the Fide-rating BCA tournament in July.
Second seed Abhijit Bhurke of Podar College also won his opening match, a 38-move saga against Arun Subramaniam.

A second-string team of the city8217;s water polo giants, PM Hindu Bath B, beat Andheri Swimming Pool B 14-1 in the MGMO water polo league, sponsored by Rotary Club of Mumbai at MGMO, Shivaji Park.
