Gore finds campaign trail littered with `landmines’

Meanwhile, thefirst company in Britain to publish the Starr report say that it is delighted at sales of a paperback version detailing the investigation into allegations against President Clinton. In two days, 95,000 copies of the book have been sold from an initial print run of 100,000, said publishers Orion yesterday.

A spokeswoman for the company said today that sales of “Clinton the Starr report — the uncensored evidence” were `unprecedented’. “It is incredible we have nothing to compare to this not even after Diana died and we brought out a special hardback book. All the big high street book shops are just clamouring for copies — it’s an unprecedented demand,” she added.

Orion expect sales to level off after the initial surge of interest but anticipate printing of the book to continue and strong sales figures. Another edition of the Starr report will be printed by pocket books, a division of Simon and Schuster, and on sale in this country next week.
