Goon gets a thrashing from victims

PUNE, May 20: Pramod Bhimsen Waghmare, a 25-year-old sickle wielding history-sheeter who tried to extort a shopkeeper and threatened the residents of Panchasheelnagar slums in Yerawada, was thrashed up by his victims last afternoon.

Over 50 slum dwellers virtually pounced on Pramod when he demanded Rs 500 as ransom from a local shopkeeper, Rajaram Parihar (28). They attacked him with whatever weapons available, according to the police. On being tipped off about the incident by a local social worker, Jagdish Ovhal, the Yerawada police shifted Pramod to Sassoon hospital where he is still undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile Pramod has been with the charges of extorting Parihar and threatening the slum-dwellers.
