PANAJI, APRIL 3: The Goa Legislative Assembly was today adjourned sine die at the end of the two-week-long Budget Session.
The House would now meet on June 26 for the monsoon session, Speaker Pratapsingh Rane announced.
Passing of the supplementary demands for grants for 1999-2000, totalling over Rs 157.47 crore, passing of the Goa Appropriation (vote on account) Bill 2000, for the first four months (April-July) of the financial year 2000-01 totalling over Rs 786.87 crore which included the business transacted by the House during the session.
A Rs 11.69 crore deficit budget for the state for 2000-01 was presented by Chief Minister Francisco Sardinha, who also holds the Finance portfolio.
The session, the first to be held in the prestigious new Assembly complex at Porvorim, began with the customary Governor’s address to the House.
